Status of Eclipse SysON project

Eclipse SysON’s proposal of the possibility of integrating Capella architecture and SysML v2 is interesting. On Eclipse’s website Eclipse SysON Creation Review | projects.eclipse.org, it says Oct 18 was the “end of review”.

If anybody know,

  1. Is there any update on the project?
  2. Is there a prototype ready or is the project development yet to begin?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This means that the project was accepted by the foundation and so that a repository will be created soon.
As it is detailed at the end of the proposal, our roadmap is:
For 2023

  • Q4: Initial Contribution, project and continuous integration setup, builds.

For 2024

  • Reach a level of maturity suitable for basic System modeling, which implies to:
    • Improve coverage and compliance of the standard in the metamodel implementations
    • Improve the editors, notably the “General View”
  • Link with Capella and Capella-based products
  • Interoperability with the textual syntax and/or API

So yes a prototype already exists and we will provide the initial code base before the end of this year.

Hi,

do you already have an idea how to fit SysON into/onto/… Capella?
(I guess you have  )

Yes

The SysML link with Capella will hopefully reduce the number of tools we use, but it is yet to be seen.
