Problems when refining functions at Logical Architecture Level

Hi,
I am new to capella and I am reading the “Systems Architecture Modeling with the Arcadia method” book I also read the Arcadia method book before.
I am stuck at the logical architecture. I have in the System Architecture a function called collect data , that is connected via a functional exchanges to the environment (external operational entity -providing the data) and the next function filter signals . In the Logical Architecture I want to refine the functions into three different type of signals and in the future sensors ( temperature, humidity and sound). I tried to use the split and gather functions at the LDFB diagram to divide the functional exchanges and connect them into the leaf functions. But when I come to the LAB diagram nothing make sense. I want to have three logical components ( one per type of signal) and include the two functions per component ( X signal collect, X signal filter). But since I haven’t allocated the split/gather functions, the ports are all floating and i get errors when I validate.
Someone with more experience can help me to understand how to solve this problem (it should be a normal situation when modeling complex systems)? The book example is too simple in this case

Hi @CristinaPaniagua,

I was trying to replicate the scenario you are describing so that I might be able to offer some advice. However, I cannot quite visualize the problem you are facing. It would help if you could post your SAB and LAB views. I am sure there is a simple answer to your question but I think the forum would need more information in order help you.
