I think your are representing your VLAN twice in your model:
- As a single node (VLAN)
- As a composition of nodes (switches)
Which representation you use will depend on how you will exploit the model. If you want to keep both, you could exploit the deployment on physical nodes on physical nodes: - Represent your VLAN (PC1 in first figure) as a physical node and the switches as resources deployed in the node (Deploy Node PC tool in the palette)
- You can represent in detail the physical paths through the switches (figure 1)
- Or the simplified representation through the VLAN (figure 2), using the show/hide Deployed PC tool in the palette
