Install Requirements

I’ve installed Capella 7.0.1 and then Basic Requirement 1.0.0 and Requirements 0.14.0 using update sites.
Only first items of each update site is installable. Other produce errors.
Then I try to get requirement items in the UI of Capella without any success.
Could somebody help here, please ?

Can you post which errors you get?
Did you try to activate the Req viewpoint on your project?

When I try to install “Basic Requirement” update site, I get following errors :

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: Basic Requirement Tests Feature Developer Resources 1.0.0.202407171136 (org.polarsys.capella.basic.requirement.tests.feature.source.feature.group 1.0.0.202407171136)
  Missing requirement: org.polarsys.capella.basic.requirement.tests.ju 1.0.0.202407171136 requires 'osgi.bundle; org.polarsys.capella.test.framework 0.0.0' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: Basic Requirement Tests Feature 1.0.0.202407171136 (org.polarsys.capella.basic.requirement.tests.feature.feature.group 1.0.0.202407171136)
    To: org.eclipse.equinox.p2.iu; org.polarsys.capella.basic.requirement.tests.ju [1.0.0.202407171136,1.0.0.202407171136]

  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: xHTML documentation generation for Requirement 0.14.0.202407170938 (org.polarsys.kitalpha.vp.requirements.docgen.feature.feature.group 0.14.0.202407170938)

And when trying to open the Requirements View, I just get a poor tab named “Basic Requirement” without any interesting information in it.

What are you trying to acheive here?

  • “Basic Requirement Tests Feature Developer Resources” → provides testing capabilities for software developers in charge of developing the add-on
  • “xHTML documentation generation for Requirement” → You need to install the xHTML documentation generation add-on first if you’re if you want to install this capability (enabling to take into account Requirements from this add-on when using the xHTML generation add-on)

I mean, are you even sure you need to install both of these Requirements and Basic Requirements add-ons?

I just try to visualize requirements.
I tried to find an example incorporating requirements but without success.
I’m finally stuck today with requirements in Capella.

Only install the requirements-vp_0.14 (the other “old” requirements are obsolet).
Start modeling your model…
Import requirements as reqIf into your model. Use your requirements in your model, diagrams, etc.

Hello Haage,

Thank you for your help. I’ve installed only the “Capella Requirements Viewpoint” package.

But now, the menu item “Requirements Viewpoint” does not appear anywhere, even on architecture elements.

Could you please help ?

Have you activated the Requirements Viewpoint in the Viewpoint Manager?

What / how long is your installation path? (Windows installation?)
=> Make sure non of your files path exceeds the max Windows path length (256 characters)

Goto
Help => Help Contents => Requirements Guide

If you have problems with the update site use dropins.
