How to capture physical assembly and mounting functions in SA

Hi there,

I’m modelling a system that will be mounted to vehicle, in most cases fitted retrospectively to in-service vehicles. Looking at FMEA, there are considerations for the system failing due to weak mounting to the host vehicle or assembly issues, etc. However, I don’t have any functions representing the “need for the system to securely mount to the host vehicle”. How do I best capture this need/function at SA and propagate through the other arcadia levels?

I tend to use a function allocated to system called something along the lines of “React Forces” or “Locate System”. There will then be a function on the actor along the lines of “transfer loads” or “generate loads”.

You can link these through the functional exchange (Forces), Component exchange (variable magnitude loads) and physical link (flange, bolted joint etc).
