Creating a M2Doc project

Hello everyone, I would like to use the M2Doc. I’m following the documentation on the website: Reference Documentation - M2Doc. But when I go to create a M2Doc project it’s coming to “Select the main variable value and name…”. I’d like to know now what it is this main variable and how I can then configure it in my project. Thank you very much.

Hello,

Your M2Doc template need at least one variable usually to reference your EMF model. The wizard allows your to load a model in order to select this model element. From this M2Doc will be able to add the needed metamodel (EPackage’s nsURI) and get the type of the selected element for your variable.

If you are experimenting in the context of Capella, you can use one of the provided template as a starting point. They are configured to work with Capella metamodels. See this page on how to deploy the sample IFE project with M2Doc templates. The variable is named self and its type is SystemEngineering. It’s the root element of the Capella model.

Is EMF any diagram (eg: decomposition diagram)??

Not sure to understand your question, but you can create class diagrams on EMF Ecore metamodels (.ecore files) with Ecore Tools. If you plan to create class diagrams for Capella metamodels, you will need to install Ecore Tools in an other Eclipse since there is a bug with Capella.
