You would allocate the Functional Exchange Ports to the the Component Exchange Ports to and the Functional Exchange to the Component Exchange. Also you can allocate EI to Component Exchange. Double-click on a Component Exchange to look at this. To add an exchange that would create a loop in a Function Chain Description diagram, as far as I know, you can use the “Exchange and Function” tool and apply it on the starting function, and select the right exchange. It will create your loop. This would create 2 involvement functions in your diagram though.
