There is no good reason. The problem comes from the technical stack that is used for Capella. We rely on several graphical frameworks, and the last one (Sirius) does not support these features that are provided by lower frameworks (GEF/GMF I believe).
However, you can cheat a little bit by using the properties view. Not the easiest but better than nothing.
