What is the recommended version of the EGit plugin to add alongside Capella 1.2.0 and what is the recommended source for it?

Hi,
I only got EGit-4.4.1 running.
I installed it from a repository: org.eclipse.egit.repository-4.4.1.201607150455-r
I can not install from an update-site due to firewall issues.
