Capella Version Handling?

Is there a way of Version handling in Capella? E.g. is there an option for auto-backup with version handling?

Thank you for your reply!

Hi,
I am not 100% sure I got your question clear but:

  • if you’re working alone, you’ve got the “Local History” window (Menu Window->Show View->Local History) that saves files changes automatically + you can right-click on a file and compare with/replace with local history
  • You can easily use Capella with Git - see in the Capella Help Capella Guide->User Manual->Version Control With Git
  • If you use Team for Capella, you can easily create an automatic job to backup your model version in Git

I hope this helps

Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for!

Hi , i am new to this forum
can you see 2 capella models from 2 different commits by doing so?
like say change of operational architecture from comit 1 and 2

Have you read the Capella documentation related to its usage with Git?

FYI, On Capella 6.1/Windows I don’t see Local History under Menu/Window/Show View. Here is what I see (I did look in all the sub-trees)

I only see History with my Git Commits.

The Local History is actually called the History view and you can see it under Version Control on your image.
